ABOUT THE SEASIDE LE MANS
The Davenport Companies developed the idea for the Seaside Le Mans following a corporate team building exercise at the F1 Boston indoor kart racing facility in Braintree, MA. Such a good time came out of the meeting that company management decided an outdoor kart race would be a fun and unique approach to fundraising on Cape Cod.
The Davenport Companies covers the entire cost of operating and promoting the event while local businesses sponsor teams of drivers. Thanks to the support of dozens of sponsors, volunteers and contributors, the previous years of the Seaside Le Mans races have generated over $2 million for worthy local organizations including Champ House, Cape Cod Hospital, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Rehabilitation Hospital of the Cape & Islands (RHCI), Independence House, Children's Cove, Hospice of Cape Cod, the Family Pantry Corporation of Harwich, Alzheimer's Services of Cape Cod and the Islands, Duffy Health Center and the Greater Cape Cod and Islands Special Olympics.
"From the beginning, the whole focus of this event has been on bringing the community together to support Cape Cod," said DeWitt Davenport, President of The Davenport Companies. "We truly feel the success of this event is a combined effort of the entire community, everyone from our business sponsors and countless volunteers to the local chambers of commerce and town officials."
